A portrait engenders connection

In the past, portrait painting was a luxury of the rich and powerful. It provided a view into the past and how people looked. Capturing a person in paint tells us of another time in history, helping us to understand and intuit the lives of our ancestors.

Today, portraits are a way to experience and connect with a loved one – an exploration and adventure through the expression of painting. The artwork’s purpose is to stimulate thought and emotion, provoke meaning and connection. In painting faces we can arrive at new ways of seeing through our intuitive sense. We capture something mystical and precious from the now that communicates far into the future.

A portrait painting is a meditation on the subject, inspired by a unique nature.
